I have been in Orlando, Florida for the past few days with the North America Educators’ Forum of the Global Diaspora Network. Now, isn’t that an exciting way to spend your time in sunny Florida!
This group developed from conversations that started among missiologists and missionaries in conjunction with Lausanne III. If you are interested in finding out more regarding diaspora missiology, let me encourage you to begin by searching this blog for “diaspora missiology”.
I want to share a video with you that was shown last year at Cape Town 2010. Joy Tira, Senior Associate for Diasporas for Lausanne, asked me to upload this resource (Thank you, Matt Pierce, for posting this for the world!). To my knowledge, outside of Cape Town 2010, few people have seen this promotional film.
If you need to provide your people with a quick introduction to the global movement of peoples, or a good discussion starter, here is an 8 minute video for you.

a worker in China2010/09/29This is an inrteesting article, and I believe it’s a true representation of this segment of the Body in China. In fact, I personally know one of the students who was pictured and quoted in the story of the Haidian Church.However, as in many stories about China, it does not tell the whole story. Those who gather to worship outside the Three-Self church structure (the government-sanctioned church) are still considered to be breaking the law.There has been a significant shift in the government’s and the people’s attitudes towards Christianity in the past 10 years. Christians are much more open about their beliefs and the government has seen positive outcomes of believers investing in meeting the needs in society. As the urban Body becomes more influential and involved, the government has had to deal with religious entities differently than it did in the past.
