Last week, Pew Hispanic released some new information on the Hispanic population in the United States.
You can find the 12-page pdf report HERE.
You will also want to check out this helpful interactive map as well (see HERE). It provides a glimpse into 30 metropolitan areas.
You can also find a statistical profile for each of the following groups:
- Mexicans
- Puerto Ricans
- Cubans
- Salvadorans
- Dominicans
- Guatemalans
- Colombians
- Hondurans
- Ecuadorians
- Peruvians
The Hispanics of the world are a powerhouse for the advancement of the gospel, both across the United States and throughout the world. There are many areas of the world that are difficult for the typical Anglo to enter. Physical appearance, culture, and the history of Western civilization are some of the commonly listed barriers for people like me.
Unfortunately, most Anglos have yet to recognize and value the great global gospel advancements presently being led by Hispanics. Related to this matter is the reality that most Anglos do not see the enormous Kingdom potential found with Hispanics.
It is long past time for Anglo churches in the United States to plant churches among Hispanics and to develop healthy partnerships with the Hispanic churches here. I commented on this matter on May 5, 2011. You may check it out HERE.
What do you think? Do you see the urban potential among the Hispanics both here and throughout the world? How will you and your church respond?
