Dehoney Center Journal of Urban Ministry

The Dehoney Center for Urban Ministry Training at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has released the Summer 2011 journal on the theme “Islam and the City.”  In addition to book reviews and a section on current research and dissertations, the following articles are found in this edition:

“Understanding What Moves the Muslim,”  J. D. Greer

“The God Who Reveals Mysteries:  Muslims, Dreams, and World Evangelization, ” George H. Martin

“Kingdom Influence in Islamic Cities,” Jon Clauson

“Establishing the church in the Midst of Urban Islam: A Flexible Contextual Approach,” Kurt Nelson

“Reaching Non-Muslims in an Islamic Mega-City,”  David Ray

“Partnering to Mobilize Latin American Missionaries to Islamic Cities,” Steve Nolen

“Opening Doors for the gospel in Muslim West Africa. . . by Living in a U. S. City,” Chris Clayman

“Mobilizing Short-Term Teams to Serve in Islamic Cities,” Steve Hardy

“Reaching Muslims Amid Religious Persecution in U. S. Cities,”  Nik Ripkin

I want to encourage you to get a subscription to this journal.  Few periodicals exist on the topic of urban missions and ministry.   If you are engaged in the urban contexts–or at least considering it–this is an outstanding and helpful resource to have on hand.
