Lord willing, May 16, I will be doing a webinar with Matthew Ellison and the good folks of Sixteen:Fifteen on developing an apostolic imagination. We are hoping this event will be a blessing to you and your ministry.
Evangelicals have been discussing unreached people groups for over 40 years. Much progress has been made; however, 7000 such groups remain. 3,200 groups remain unengaged. The United States is home to almost 300 unreached peoples (and Canada 170). There is much work to do both over there and over here.
Developing an imagination, like that of the first century disciples, is critical to the global task before us. While most pastors have a desire to reach the nations, I have found that few have apostolic imaginations necessary for the task. As a pastor, I believe an apostolic imagination must coexist with our pastoral imaginations. We pastors think like pastors, but also need to think like an apostle when it comes to equipping and sending our people.
