We are asking for answers. We need them now. But what happens when the Church finds herself in a situation where there is no solution manual to purchase, no webinar to attend, and no book available? While I am all for collaboration, meetings (even on-line), and seeking the council of others (Prov 11:14), what if the answers are not there just yet?
What if you are the one to provide the answers?
Some people live with the belief the inexperienced have nothing to contribute. They have been told: “You can’t do that. You have never done it before.” They tell others, “You do it first, and get some success. Then I will try it.” As I wrote HERE a few years ago, we choke on the craving for experience while the Kingdom suffers. Remember, someone has to be the first to Philippi (Acts 16:6-10).
Right now, we are all inexperienced. We have never done it this way before. Yet, could this be a moment when God manifests His power in and through our limitations? Could this be a time when He provides the wisdom needed to see around corners (Jas 1:2-7)? Seek His face. Cry out to Him (Matt 7:7-12). Remember Paul’s words: “For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Cor 12:10).
The Church needs wise, inexperienced, but Spirit-led leaders who will go to the edge and take the next step. We need to Compress Time for Gospel Advancement and Share Today’s Stories Later Today.
Keep asking. But do not stop there. Keep doing. You have always wanted to do something outside the box. Now is the time.
Thank you for this short, but immensely helpful post JD. Your style of writing should be standard in the Kingdom – far too many are wordy to the point of weariness, and hinders the reader. These are very encouraging words for inexperienced servants. Confidence should always be based on His Word, His Spirit, His power – not our weak bodies of death! God is so capable, and willing to see us through. For His glory forevermore!
You are very kind, Derrick. I greatly appreciate your words of encouragement. May we rest in Him!
JD,
Thank you so much for the words of encouragement!
You are welcome, Clay.
