I shall keep this post brief.
The past several days have been most challenging and an emotional roller coaster. My mother was diagnosed with cancer and given about a year to live–assuming chemo treatments. She has yet to decide whether she will participate in such therapy.
Please pray for us during this time as you feel led. At the time of this post, mom is in good spirits. I am doing very well. We are resting in the Lord’s grace. It is very, very true that He provides peace which passes understanding (Phil 4:7). Mom has made it clear she is willing to stay but ready to go if such is His will. The assurance of one’s salvation, God’s goodness, and the continuation of abundant life is an amazing comfort. And such knowledge and experience should also drive our passion for evangelism, as we think of those who have no hope.
Thank you for your prayers.
Praying, my friend!

Hi J.D., we here in Canada are certainly honored to pray for your mom and your family. You are loved!
Praying for your mom, you and the rest of your family
Dear Dr. Payne,
I am very sorry to hear about your mom. Count on my prayers for her and your family during this hard time.
My prayer today: Beloved LORD, I pray now for Dr. Payne’s family. Could you give them the respite they so desperately need? Bless his mother so that she can be not only at Thanksgiving but also at Christmas with energy and enjoy fellowship with her family. LORD, You are the only one who knows the right time for everything and we don’t know anything. We humble ourselves in Your Holy Presence and we dare to ask for total healing. It’s a miracle, but You are the God of miracles. May the Wonderful Comforter be with this family at all times. I ask you in Jesus’ mighty Name, amen.
