Remembering Roland Allen at 154

Yesterday would have been Roland Allen’s 154th birthday. I assumed Google was not offering a Doodle, so I shared several posts on Twitter throughout this week. If you did not get to see any of the links or quotes, you may go through my feed HERE.

Allen has been an influence on my missiology for decades. My 2001 dissertation was an examination of his missiology and comparison to movements within North America.

Funny, a high church, Anglican significantly shapes the views of a low church Baptist. I see a future, low-budget, Christian film in the making. 🙂

For a couple of years, I have been wanting to do an episode of This Week in Mission History on Allen to go with my other history videos (e.g., Zinzendorf and the Moravians, Patrick, David Brainerd). So, in recognition of this week’s significant date, a new video has been posted. I hope you will check it out and subscribe to my channel.

But, if you are not a video person, below are several links to other helpful Allen resources. As 2023 approaches, maybe a good goal for next year would be to read an Allen book you have not read (or re-read a classic).

As always, thank you for visiting my site and sharing it with others. Lord willing, I will return next year.
